Experienced Resident Manager
I am seeking a resident manager position in or around West Los Angeles. I have been a resident apartment manager for two separate 7 unit apartment buildings in West Los Angeles for over 5 years. I have also managed and leased a 62 unit bachelor style apartment building on Melrose in Los Angeles for over 4 years and oversaw its transformation into a hotel property. My residential and commercial property management experience was focused on creating P&L statements for clients, CAM billing and reconciling, collecting rents, minor repairs, and scheduling maintenance with vendors and tenants. Through this I have become experienced with RSO rules and regulations, vendor relations, general accounting, apartment leasing and advertising, and general maintenance. I am also very proficient with MS Office Suite, Adobe Writer, and Adobe Photoshop.
My education background in Business Finance and Economics have given me a strong foundation of general accounting principles, quantitative management (specifically its use in excel/word programs), and general financials. My work experience over the past five years has been that of a commercial broker and property manager. Through my brokerage background I have become very familiar prospecting new business, contracts, lease negotiations, property marketing and tenant relations. It has also sharpened my communication and presentation skills. In addition to selling properties, I have also leased both commercial and large residential income properties in the West Los Angeles Area.

Our community managers are required but not limited to: Show available units, conduct open houses, schedule move ins and move outs, coordinate vendors, provide maintenance staff, general cleaning of common areas and attend to resident requests. Requirements
We are seeking an experienced community manager team with the following qualifications:

I am an AAGLA trained resident manager with four years experience managing everything from student housing, to rent controlled units, to a newly rehabbed high-end property in North Hollywood. I’ve managed a single building with 26 units as well as 125 units spread over nine buildings.
I am a writer and have found that managing is the perfect situation for me. I spend most of my time at home (or at a nearby coffee shop) and the integration of the daily tasks of property management with my writing life is both productive and satisfying.
I took the last year to complete my MFA at UCLA and have, therefore, lived the last twelve months as a regular tenant. The experience has reminded me how important it is to have responsive management. People understand that everything cannot be fixed immediately. They do not, however, understand why it takes a week to return a phone call. Communication between tenants and management is key. I have watched neighbors move out as a result of poor communication with the manager’s office.
